I'm getting too many notifications, or the same one twice. How do I cut them down?
Switch off the email groups you do not want in Settings > Notifications, then clear the backlog on the Notifications page.
Steps
- 1Open Settings > Notifications and, under Email from Gable, turn off Market and comp alerts or Updates and housekeeping if those are what is filling your inbox. Week ahead and Seller report prep are one email a week each.
- 2Open Notifications. Pick a category such as Market, then press the button with its count, for example Mark 12 read.
- 3To clear everything at once, open the menu beside that button and choose Mark everything read.
Why you might see something more than once
- The morning brief collects what is still unread. An item you have not opened can appear in tomorrow's brief again. Marking it read stops that.
- Setup reminders, such as "Closings not on your calendar", come back at most once a week until you fix what they ask for. Connecting the calendar clears it for good.
- Deals and deadlines cannot be turned off. A deadline is meant to reach you. A condition or deposit reminder comes three times: three days before, the day before and on the day.
- The badge in the sidebar counts only what needs you, so it is usually smaller than the unread total. The line at the top of Notifications, such as "5 need you, of 40 unread", shows both.
Note: turning a group off stops the email only. The items still collect on the Notifications page, so nothing is lost.
If that doesn't work
- If you get two copies of the very same email on the same morning, open Chat with Support and paste both subjects, or forward both to support@getgable.ca.
- If old unread items keep reappearing after you marked them read, refresh the page and tell us the category in Chat with Support.
