What does each setting in Settings, Notifications do?
Settings > Notifications decides which of Gable's emails to you also land in your inbox. Everything still shows on the Notifications page either way.
Steps
- 1Open Settings > Notifications.
- 2Under Email from Gable, turn a switch off to stop that email. Each switch saves as you change it, and Saved shows beside it.
- 3Under Check that email reaches you, press Send test to me to check Gable's mail is reaching your inbox. You see "Sent, check your inbox".
The switches, one by one
- Deals and deadlines, marked Always on. Conditions, deposits, closings, offers, expiries, overdue tasks and status changes on your deals. These come in the morning brief when something needs you. It cannot be switched off, so a deadline can never go quiet by accident. The Condition deadline and Deposit due reminders belong to this group: in the app three days before, the day before and on the day, and in the morning brief email.
- Week ahead. Every closing, condition, showing and expiry due in the next two weeks. Sent on Mondays, and skipped when the fortnight is clear.
- Seller report prep. Listings missing the week's views before Monday reports. Sent on Sundays, only when views are missing. See The Sunday email.
- Market and comp alerts. Price and status changes on the homes you picked for your listings. They come in the morning brief, as they happen.
- Updates and housekeeping. MLS changes echoed back, deals closed as planned, quiet marketing and setup reminders. In the morning brief, a few a week.
Billing, sign-in and legal notices always arrive by email, whatever you choose here.
The morning brief
The morning brief is one email early each morning that bundles what is unread for you. It only comes when something is unread, and it leaves out anything in a group you switched off. There is no separate switch for the brief itself.
The Notifications page
- Open Notifications in the sidebar, or under More on a phone. The badge counts what needs you: deadlines, showings and client activity. Routine updates, market moves and setup notices are listed without adding to it.
- At the top of the page, a line such as "5 need you, of 40 unread" gives the badge's figure beside the full unread count, so the two never look like they disagree.
- Filter by All, Deadlines and tasks, Showings and feedback, Clients, Market or System and setup.
- The button with the unread count, for example Mark 4 read, clears the category you are looking at. Mark everything read is in the menu beside it, labelled More notification actions.
- Reminders about setup, such as connecting a calendar, appear once and come back at most once a week until you act on them.
Note: there are no push notifications on your phone yet, and there is no setting for them. Everything arrives on the Notifications page and by email.
If that doesn't work
- A switch flips back on its own: the save failed and Gable put it back. Read the red line under the switches and try again.
- If the switches are greyed out with "These switch on shortly", they are not ready on your account yet and every email still arrives.
- Send test to me shows an error, or the test never arrives: check your spam folder, then open Chat with Support. Or email support@getgable.ca.
