Is Gable CASL compliant? What do I need to do?

Gable builds the things Canada's anti-spam law asks of every message into each client email. Your part is to add your brokerage mailing address and to email only people you work with.

What Gable does on every client email

  • Sends it in your name, with replies going to you.
  • Adds your brokerage name and mailing address at the bottom.
  • Adds an Unsubscribe from these updates link. One click stops that listing's emails to that person, and Gable will not send them again, even if the listing is deleted and added back.
  • Holds every client email if your brokerage mailing address is missing, rather than send one without it.

Steps

  1. 1Open Settings > Profile.
  2. 2Fill in Brokerage mailing address and save with Save profile.

If it is missing, you get a notification titled "Client email is on hold, brokerage mailing address needed", and a send you press says "No brokerage mailing address on file, which Canadian anti-spam law requires on client email."

What stays with you

  • Add only sellers and buyers you are working with. Gable's emails are about their own deal, not marketing.
  • Whether you have consent to email someone is your judgment and your brokerage's. Gable cannot give legal advice. Ask your broker of record or your brokerage's compliance contact.

Note: Gable's own emails to you, such as billing and sign-in messages, are separate and always arrive.

If that doesn't work

  • You added the address and client mail is still on hold: check you pressed Save profile, then try the send again.
  • On a team, each deal owner needs their own mailing address. A teammate's missing address holds their clients' mail, and the notification names them.
  • Questions about a specific email: open Chat with Support. Or email support@getgable.ca.

Still stuck? Email support@getgable.ca. A person reads every message and replies in writing.
