How do I invite my seller?
Add your seller's email to the listing, then press Invite to portal. They get an email from you with one button that signs them straight in, no password.
Before you send it
Fill in Brokerage mailing address in Settings > Profile. Canadian anti-spam law requires it on email to your clients, and no client email goes out without it.
Send the invite
- 1Open the listing. At the top, press Add your seller.
- 2Type their email and press Add seller. Nothing is sent yet.
- 3The button at the top now reads Invite to portal. Press it.
- 4You see "Invite sent to" and their address. The button changes to Resend invite, and disappears once they have signed in.
On a phone, the same button sits with the other round buttons at the top of the listing.
Or use the Clients card
On a computer, the Clients card on the Roadmap tab does the same job, one row per person:
- 1Type the email and press Add client.
- 2Press Invite on that row. It reads Resend invite after the first send.
A grey mark beside a client means they have not signed in yet. It turns green once they have.
What your seller receives
An email from your name, with replies coming to you, titled "[your name] set up your progress page for [address]". It explains that the page shows the photos, showings and feedback, nearby comparable homes and every deadline to closing, and has one button, Open your portal. It is signed with your name, photo and brokerage, and never mentions Gable.
On their first visit they agree to the portal's terms of use, which name you and your brokerage, then land on their listing.
Note: Once the listing is Active, the Monday, Wednesday and Friday emails go to every address in the Clients card, whether or not you have sent the invite.
If that doesn't work
- "No brokerage mailing address on file": add it in Settings > Profile, then press Invite to portal again.
- "That address belongs to a Gable account, not a client": you cannot invite yourself or a teammate as the seller. Use Preview as client to see their view instead.
- "Nothing was sent: client emails are paused right now": see "Client emails are paused": what it means.
- The link expired before they opened it: see My seller's link doesn't work.
